A couple of months back, amidst the craziness, Stephanie worked

on this great animated spot with our pal and long-time collaborator,

Clemens Habicht. Clem directed the ad through the rad kids at

Mighty Nice here in Sydney; through Nexus in London; for Arnold

in NY. A truly worldwide collaboration.

The Mighty Nice studio was papered in hundreds of Stephanie's

drawings of hundreds of eyes and hands. Here's some of those

hand-drawn Hand frames:

Shouts outs to (Steph's boys) Toby, Cos and Pete and Fi and Darren.

It couldn't have been a nicer collaboration.

This month's Headliner is one half of HSITI: Stephanie L Anderson.

Upon our return from Adelaide with the Ladds a week or so ago, Stephanie dug out some corks from bottles popped in celebration

of our wedding, Christmas, or the fact it was mealtime – again.

There were a few scraps of leather and odds and ends in a container on the desk and while I busied myself with Angry Birds, Steph fiddled about for a bit and a corky dog appeared. Then a Cat.

I was sketching a 70s-graff-hippy-Bboy – that was made. A family of ducks – done. And what better I than a flying eye? None, that's what.

Alongside zine-making, pistachio-facing and a recent photo/fashion collaboration, Amanda is the author of Nobody Told Me There'd be Days Like These, a collection of 15 short stories exploring the ups and downs of youth – water-colourfully illustrated by that other super talented NZer – Sarah Larnach.

On October 27, 2007 Stephanie shuffled the New Eras on the shelf in Footage while Phil's back was turned.

A perennial gag round these parts, it wasn't until October 10, 2010 – almost 3 years later – that the world finally took notice of our juvenile humour.

One young punk posted it on his blog and in the last few days a bunch of kids have followed suite. It's a strange world we live in.

Last count: a salubrious 76 notes.

I know that's not a lot for proper bloggers, but we're not proper.

Pals of ours, Lucinda Schreiber & Beatrice Pegard recently directed the new Midnight Juggernauts' music video Lara vs the Savage Pack.

A slew of ultra-talented kids and friends did such a good job on it

and besides their amazing making and directing, we – well Stephanie mainly – designed and made some masks to be animated as part of this beautiful production. From 02:44 – 03:04 the masks you see were all hand-made in our studio. We can't believe how well it all turned out – incredible...

A few weeks back, Stephanie made and helped animate,

the props for this realestate.com.au commercial, aptly

titled: Spring.

In the words of production co. Photoplay Films (but remixed a bit here): Inspired by time-lapse photography and nature documentaries, the campaign depicts boxes unwrapping themselves like blooming flowers, celebrating the feeling of fresh beginnings that comes with moving into a new home.

Steph's little bro Scott Otto Anderson captained the ship, while animagician Nick Donkin was on animation duties.

Their first range of brooches reflect the sciences – med, technolog and zoolog-ical – and feature text-book-engraving-style illustrations which to us, are the perfect modern day mood-rings. From Yes, yes – I'm all ears... to If you use the last of my soy milk again, I'll blow your effin' brains out – let the office know you mean business. Or are as carefree as a lark...

I don't know if that review will do more harm than good, but take it from us these two are doing GOOD things.

And they used a library-card ledger system in their beautiful packaging. Good and good!

Pals of ours, the boys have just dropped their Autumn range of clean-cut tees under the same name – and they're pretty darn sharp. Stay laced in the best, well dressed with finesse...

For the beat junkies and alleyway-lurkers in the crowd, the anniversary edition Just Dilla and WDV x Longneck Mafia prints are going faaast. Don't doze.

Stephanie's Burger-Zines have always been popular with the kids and in the last month or so, they've been traveling the globe – one blog at a time.

In Russia, they popped up on a design blog named (I think) Trendario.

Our always-jet-setting-pal Friedy – ❤d us n them on the relaunch of her site for world homeware betterment Bholu. Redesigned by the inimitable Nickle J. Boyce.

Justine of Sydney's own Upon a Fold gave em the once over which caused a mild hysteria – popping up in Boston on The Function Key, NY's designworklife and Gatos Pingados in Brasil.

The Design Files by Melbourne prop buyer Lucy featured them, so too Yasmine Zaleck and her Beruit-based blog Design Fetish and inspired Hey Neil and Sophie at Sophication.

Stephanie's in the process of creating her own flickr called Stephanie Makes – showcasing the things she... well, makes. At the moment, the only things posted are the Burger-Zines – from the one-off original for the 2008 MCA Zine Fair, through to the tiny ten-cent-piece-sized fellows of today. Befriend her and prompt her - she's a little flickr shy... More up soon.

Stephanie made these wee Egg-Noggins as Easter treats for our pals. Real eggs, fake fur. Leather-fried-egg-eyes, skinny legs n all.

Now, you know we're not reaaally into toys (and yeah, we know they're not TOYS)... but our mate JC alerted us to this 1/6th scale, fully-articulated-and-fur-covered figure. Which sounds pretty damn good in itself. But what if this figure was modeled on Scott Howard's alter ego Teen Wolf? Outrageous!

This one-off was made last year by The Tarantulas – whose name graces TW's authentic Adidas singlet – replacing the Beacon Town Beavers – and is sculpted by super sculptors Morpheus. T-Dub's even rocking the Top Tens.

We kinda want one – mainly to touch the hair. Is that so wrong...

I'm trying to cut down to one W$YK post per week so please consider this last week's cause I can feel another one coming on soon.

The omnipresent Garry Trinh snapped-off this bad-boy of a quickie I'd knocked out on the wall at Mart Gallery while the Kids had their backs turned.

Based loosely on the Ponytail poster we co-illo'd a little while back, the image sat pride of place on the chest of the shady character flogging their dodgy work.

Jakob Dezwart took this eye-bending panorama of the whole amazing Bootleg show. The decision to paint arms across all walls was one of genius. Good show ol' beans.

Davey's Drop Cap.

With Semi-Permanent a-happenin here in Sydney and all eyes on I's and A's and Z's, I was reading about speaker Jessica Hische and her Daily Drop Cap project where – in her own perfectly-formed words – she illustrates a decorative letter every day.

If you've ever trawled ffffound (no link necessary) you will have spotted Jessica's illuminated characters and if decorative type-design is your thing, you no doubt thought they were pret-ty good.

This is a one-off and not an alphabet or four, but here's a drop cap I made a few years back for a job our mate Benzo was working on. Titled Decadence, this D graced the cover of a one-colour plus gold foil-stamped theatre program – the flourish being knocked-out. I'd forgotten I made it and looking at it now, it aint so bad. If decorative type-design is your thing.

I'm pretty sure everyone is familiar with M. Sasek's beautifully illustrated This is... books, highlighting the geography, customs and culture of particular cities in the series.

Each book begins with the author heading off to the city or country in question – portfolio tucked under his arm – and ends with him leaving with a souvenir of sorts, often in local get-up. Czech-born Miroslav Sasek's at once simple and yet detailed gouache and ink renderings, perfectly capture the essence of the cities and countries he explores.

I was recently at my parents' house and was prompted to dig out my old copies after adding a couple of new ones to the collection we've been buying for my niece and nephew.

My sister and I were lucky enough to be given This is London and This is Edinburgh (W. H. Allen – issued 1959 and 1961 respectively, reprinted in 1976) by our far-travelling Aunt and so these books have been in our lives for as long as I can remember.

I picked up an original 1965 copy of This is Hong Kong somewhere, sometime in my travels too.

Four 12-minute animated films were made of the series and produced by Weston Woods.

This Is Israel (1962) – the first country-not-city book to appear – is the only one I can find online. It's pretty damn good. Part one below:

Miroslav Sasek's incredible books have been a huge influence on my illustrative tastes and style – and I guess a whole swag of modern cartoon fans – plus fostering my fascination for exploring cities and towns. I can't imagine having a house without them on the bookshelf. Cheers M.S!

Canonball Run.

Among the crazy amount of things we've been working on in the last week, we somehow fit this project in for Canon PIXMA. Our job was to build a mini model set set and complementary signage up in lights. It being for a printer, all components were built with paper and card.

The signage and set are designed to be shot separately - these are our shots and not finals – the sign will hang over the set as per your usual talk show.

The brief called for a chair for our host and a lounge for his guests. Plus, a table and cushion to hold the printer – all to be comped-in. We designed a modernist modular setting for the minimalist set – secretly wanting a full-size version of the lounge ourselves.

Can't wait to see the finished thing... Otssy?!

We love a good pun, a good set of knockers and a knock-off of any kind. Keepin' it real is for the birds and pre-millennium rappers.

W$YK – two of the hardest working kids in the biz – are, as you might have guessed, perennial faves over here at HSITI. Next Thursday sees the opening of their new show BOOTLEG at Mart Gallery where they'll go head to head with their own work, making shoddily-built knock-offs of the originals.

We'll be there with boot-leg jeans on! And maybe bolero jackets...
